"Irbis 3.0" Winter Set | Review

"Irbis" 5.45 DESIGN winter set for extremely low temperatures is available for order now and today we will introduce you to its review. First and foremost we would like to discuss the Grape Leaf color of the suit. It was chosen for better camouflaging properties in the visual spectrum. This is a color of rocks in mountain terrain, as well as the color of tree trunks. This is the second after white color that we see in winter mountain-forest terrain.

Let’s review the suit in all details from head to toes. We will mention all its advantages starting from the jacket design. Removable hood is helmet-compatible and can be adjusted to the head shape according to two parameters. There is a special sleeve in the back area where you can store the free end of adjustment rubber cord. Side velcro panels for identification marks can be used when the helmet is under the hood. There is a pocket inside the hood for a warm fleece mask. The jacket has eight outside pockets for storage of small items and navigation devices. All pockets are closed with waterproof zippers and are compatible with tactical vests. There are two inside mesh pockets for batteries. The jacket is closed with a safe two-sided tractor zipper and insulated flap with plastic buttons. There is a multifuncional pocket on the left from the zipper.

The inner jacket is equipped with a special rubberized skirt that keeps warmth inside. When it is not needed it can be removed and fixated by buttons. Anatomic cut sleeves with reinforced patches from durable material on elbows and shoulders. There are velcro panels on both sleeves with color matching patches. The cuff width can be adjusted. Cuffs are equipped with fleece sleeves that cover palms. There are also additional ventilation underarm zippers.

Let’s discuss the pants now. High waisted cut keeps the stomach and back in warmth even in a leaned position. Rubberized pattes allow you to adjust pants to the waist size. The codpiece is closed with a large button and two-sided zipper. The harnesses allow you to wear pants with a belt. Two side loops on the belt allow you to attach included two-point suspenders. Frontal harnesses are equipped with additional loops for carabins attachment. The legs are equipped with a self-discharge system with waterproof zippers starting from the waistline. This feature allows you to take pants on and off in a lying position, standing in the dirt, wet snow and in other extreme and difficult conditions.

There are two side pockets that can store magazines or other items of similar size. Lower leg area, knees and butt are reinforced with durable fabric. There are also integrated gaiters in the lower leg area that protect shoes from snow and small rubbish. Gaiters are equipped with special hooks attaching to the shoe laces, as well as with hypalon belts. The belt length should be adjusted to the shoe size just once. There is also a compression bag available for order that can be used for pants or jacket storage.
