5.45 DESIGN Equipment Review

• Date: Feb, 19th - March, 15th, 2020
• Location: Pacific Ocean, Busan city (South Korea) - final destination is Vladivostok port. BUT! Due to the weather condition we got ashore in Kamchatka.
• Weather conditions: from -21°C to +10°C, considering wind and high humidity it feels like -25°C.

"This hybrid softshell helped us a lot and performed very positively in situations that were not positive at all - we had to operate in quite extreme conditions with constant strong wind, wet or dry snow, drizzle and cold sunny weather. "Manul" pants perform in the same amazing way! They are durable and warm but also prevent overheating due to the ventilation. They can be easily used as an independent item without a jacket, and they are a perfect combination with thermal underwear (in our case, "Phantom")".

"I have tested thermal underwear not only in the sea, but also in the mountains. In general, "Phantom Demi" underwear is good and efficient (both in warm and cold weather), we didn’t feel any unpleasant smell for at least three days. Moreover, "Chameleon" fleece worn over it also didn’t smell bad even after two weeks. This fleece jacket is an amazing independent insulation layer. Beanie and tube scarf are also a must, even though sometimes the wind was so strong that neither a hat, nor "Manul" cellophane hood, nor scarf, nor even helmet was enough. So in order to have an additional hood we had to wear the hoodie as well. We even began to make jokes about Wool Rich Heat Holders socks because it was so warm and sometimes even hot in them. GREAT THING! And we also really fell in love with Head 3 Smart tactical winter sensory gloves-mittens. It is really easy and pleasant to work wearing them. By the way, all this combo also performed really well when I was climbing the Elbrus mountain. We sincerely and with full responsibility can say that this equipment has performed and is performing 99%."
